Severn Sisters – A True Community! — Anna Fine Jewellery
I have prepared a couple of blogs over the final few months that I did not really publish. I’m not confident why, but I’m likely to just go with the idea that if I assumed they have been any excellent, I’d have completed crafting and posted them!
Now nevertheless, I do actually have a thing truly worth creating about. It is a tale of true local community and collaboration, of outrageous ideas, tough operate and a lot of love…
About this time las year (wow! It was that extended back, I just seemed it up!!) I was asked to be section of a team exhibition of artists that had been either inspired by or labored together with the river Severn. I virtually said no, as I usually noticed to be absolutely snowed below with commissions and never ever get any time to make everything other than that.
I did not say no though…I resolved to dedicate to performing something, that experienced turn into just a minimal exterior my consolation zone. I joined the Severn Sisters and we place on our to start with exhibition at 7Q Gallery in Chepstow.
The exhibition appeared superb and quite very good sales were built, but I want to convey to you about our “second” event….Open up House……
It was all the courageous idea of Annie Brennan, who we’ve now all named our “mother superior”. An strategy centered all over similar exhibitions that she’d frequented/listened to of in city centres – all of the “sisters” placing on an exhibition around a weekend, in her household. So, immediately after some conferences, some snacks and a several drinks, with no promoting spending budget and no notion if everyone would occur, we determined to go for it!
Well… I believe the only words to explain this past weekend are resounding achievements!! There were 13 of us included all alongside one another, and just by some social media sharing and a bit of leaflet printing on our house printers, folks did uncover out at about it – masses of people in truth! It just goes to exhibit that if you set your brain to it, and give your quite very best effort and hard work, anything at all is attainable!
For me however, the genuine success has been locating this wonderful group of girls (and one particular token guy of system) that have just been so supportive to every other all over the organisation and the actual party. Over the previous couple of months, but primarily for the duration of the Open Residence itself, we chatted about so lots of items and shared so quite a few laughs. Theres clearly been hugs, but to be trustworthy, it feels like the Severn Sisters are just one particular massive frequent hug. The way that the team just gelled was of course noticed by our readers as just one of them believed that we all lived and worked together in Annie’s dwelling!
We’re all distinctive ages, from unique locations and backgrounds and have unique views, likes and dislikes, and that’s definitely okay. I really feel so privileged to have been asked to be part of this awesome minimal group and I just cannot wait around to start off pondering about what we do following!
